Ethics is everyone's problem: A debate
BMJ Future Health 2026 (Europe)
Should we have a centralised role in every healthcare trust that is responsible for the ethics and safety of digital tools? Or should every clinician be across the ethical and legal ramifications of the technology they use? Join our debate to hear the pros and cons of each approach, and add your voice to the conversation.

How we make sure AI in healthcare serves the public good
BMJ Future Health 2026 (Europe)
The closing keynote. AI has enormous potential to improve healthcare, but its greatest impact comes when we start with patient and community needs, not the technology itself. Too often, new tools are introduced because the capability is there, not because they solve an existing problem or answer a need. Our closing keynote explores where AI can deliver the greatest value, from research and population health to performance improvement. It will also examine the challenges of using AI safely in clinical care, including the risks of overdiagnosis, bias and unintended harm.
